Being familiar with exactly what it takes to implement a high-quality, data-rich and comprehensive ESG and sustainability solution, our co-founders created an independent and fully objective sustainability screening and reporting solution which also supports product design all within a SaaS model.

We are a complementary and versatile team of professionals across asset management/finance, data science and technology with a keen desire to promote a sustainable future.

Michael Schneider
Dr. Jobst von Hoyningen-Huene

Michael Schneider and Dr. Jobst von Hoyningen-Huene founded Screen17 in 2017 following the launch of econnext AG, Screen17’s parent company. Previously, Michael served as the head of ESG for the Asset & Wealth Management division of Deutsche Bank AG. Jobst was Managing Director and Head of the Financial Institutions Group Germany, during which time he was coordinator of the German energy transition task force. Both founders gained in-depth experience of sustainable project financing and capital allocation to the energy transition. Together they identified the need for an independent and fully objective sustainability screening and reporting solution offering comprehensive and high-quality data and services which support a wide range of use cases across the financial industry.

Dr. Florian Glaser and Dr. Sven Panz manage the firm while leveraging the close relationship and knowledge of Michael and Jobst to drive Screen17’s growth strategy.

Chief Technology Officer

Florian joined in March 2021, and is responsible for the strategic and operational development of software systems and the IT infrastructure at ESG Screen17. He oversees and participates in internal and external IT projects to provide the product team with reliable, useful, future-proof tools and systems for data engineering, data analysis, and seamless product delivery to the customer.


Prior to joining ESG Screen 17, Florian worked as a Scientist, Software Engineer, and Software Architect for data-driven start-ups building products ranging from Industrial IoT to Blockchain-based financial services. He also gathered experience as a Quantitative Strategist and implemented IT systems for portfolio- and order management at a boutique Fund in Cologne.


During his academic career, Florian held a position as research group lead and lectured on Applied Analytics and Electronic Finance at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). He conducted scientific research at the KIT and the Goethe University Frankfurt on Systemic Risk, Robo Advisory, Machine Learning in financial markets, user behaviour on Social Trading platforms, and the analysis and design of Distributed Ledger systems.


Florian holds a Diploma in Business Administration, a Master’s degree in Practical Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the Universities in Cologne, Hagen and Frankfurt.

Dr. Sven Panz

Chief Product Officer

Dr. Sven Panz joined ESG Screen17 in 2019 and is responsible for the methodological development of the proprietary Screen17 model for the assessment of various sustainability dimensions. He is also an expert regarding the implementation of different regulatory topics such as the EU-Taxonomy and the SFDR.
Prior to joining Screen17, Sven worked within the Investment Banking division of Goldman Sachs in Frankfurt, and worked as a student trainee in various quantitative areas at EY and AXA.
Sven holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Mathematics and a Master in Finance and Information Management from the Technical University of Munich. Sven also conducted international research projects at the University of Cambridge and the University of Toronto.

Sebastian Frank

Data Engineer

Sebastian joined in August 2021 and works as a Data Engineer at Screen17 primarily contributing to the development of the underlying platform as well as the proprietary data offering. This includes taking care of data pipelines, adding new platform features and also supporting the Product Team in processing & analysing ESG data.

Sebastian holds a Master’s degree in Business Informatics from Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main (2021). During his studies he gained diverse experiences including studying abroad at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, working as a research assistant at the Chair of e-Finance (Goethe University) and further short-term employments as a web developer (Frank Europe) & financial services consulting intern (KPMG).

Moritz Günther

Client Relationship Manager

Moritz joined in December 2021 and works as a Client Relationship Manager, where he is passionate in serving our clients while also enjoying special projects on behalf of the Sales & Relationship Management team.

Prior to this, Moritz worked in the Equities Research department at Deutsche Bank. Throughout his studies, he worked in the Investor Relations department of MDAX-listed company Hypoport SE, supporting capital markets communication and reporting. He also worked at LYNX, an online broker as a customer and trading support specialist, and prior to that in the real estate sector. His Bachelor’s thesis focused on sustainability reporting of selected listed companies in Germany, sparking his interest on the topic.

Moritz holds a degree in Business Administration with a focus on finance and digital business from the University of Applied Science in Berlin, with a semester at Kookmin University in Seoul, Korea.

Lars Behl

Data Scientist

Lars joined in October 2023 as an ESG Specialist & Data Scientist. As part of the product team, he contributes to the further development of the sustainability assessment model, including data analysis, evaluation and visualization. Lars also performs project management for the development of new product solutions. He works closely with the Sales & Relationship Management team.

Prior to joining ESG Screen 17, Lars worked at KPMG AG, where he advised asset managers on the implementation of sustainability projects regarding strategy and regulations (e.g. SFDR, EU taxonomy). He also gained practical experience in portfolio management of sustainable investment funds as a Junior Portfolio Manager at ESG Portfolio Management GmbH.

Lars developed his interest in sustainable finance during his studies, where he also wrote his master’s thesis on climate sensitivity and stock returns. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Dresden University of Technology and a Master of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from the Justus-Liebig University of Giessen. He is a Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA) since June 2021.

Bronwyn Hoskins Davies

Business Manager

Bronwyn joined in March 2023 and is responsible for co-ordinating the People, Culture, & Organisation department of Screen17 as well as the day-to-day administrative tasks. Additionally, she works closely with the Screen17 Sales team and the econnext Marketing team to develop communication materials, create content for the Screen17 LinkedIn page, and assist with client outreach.

Before joining Screen17 Bronwyn had a consulting internship at GreenTec Capital Partners, a Venture Capital firm specialising in the development of ESG oriented start-ups on the African Continent.

Bronwyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Science with a specialisation in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of the Free State in South Africa and a Master of Science in Management with a specialisation in Digital Business from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. She also studied for a semester at Nova School of Business and Economics in Carcavelos, Portugal where she focused on developing economies and social entrepreneurship. For her master’s thesis Bronwyn developed a scoring framework to rate and dissect Voluntary Sustainability Standards in the fashion industry.

Janis Katzenbach

Data Scientist

Janis joined ESG Screen17 in February 2022 as a Data Scientist. As part of the product team, he supports the further development of the data model. This includes integrating new data sources and implementing regulatory requirements.

In 2014, Janis began his bachelor studies in Industrial Engineering at the Technical University in Darmstadt. In the subsequent master’s program he deepened his focus on sustainable energy, finance, and innovation. During his studies he spend a semester abroad at the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg (Sweden) and worked as a tutor at the department of mathematics.

Prior to joining ESG Screen17, Janis gained professional experience as an intern and working student in different industries. He worked in consulting, in business development, in tool development and data analysis as well as digital transformation.

Nina Nicole Zahn

Data Scientist

Nina joined in August 2023 and works as a Data Scientist within the product team, where her primary focus lies in maintaining and enhancing the Screen17 data model. Alongside these responsibilities, she conducts data analysis and reporting, delivering comprehensive insights for both internal and external needs.

During her Bachelor’s degree in Business Informatics at the University of Mannheim, Germany, Nina spent a semester abroad at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, USA, and engaged in an international research project at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Nina pursued her education further, obtaining a Master’s degree in Data Science from IT University of Copenhagen, Denmark. During her studies, she learned about various facets of the discipline, including algorithmic fairness, digital sustainability, and machine learning.

Prior to her role at ESG Screen17, Nina gathered practical experience in the field of Data Science through an internship at a digital marketing agency and as a working student at a company in the energy and maritime industry.

Working Student

Luisa joined in November 2022 as a working student and member of the product team. She is currently pursuing a Master of Political Science and Economics at Heidelberg University and working on a research internship at the university’s Institute for Political Science (IPW). In September 2022, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Heidelberg University, and her bachelor thesis explored the relationship between the individual support towards specific party families and the support towards coal energy. Luisa gained previous experience as a working student, supporting social science research focused on quantitative methods, administrative services for the funding of research projects, and product management operations.

Working Student

Thijmen joined ESG Screen17 in February 2023 as a working student supporting the product team. As of 2021, Thijmen is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. Prior to his university education, he graduated from the Frankfurt International School, where he completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. During this time, Thijmen gained experience through internships in Artificial Intelligence, Network Science, and Energy Management Technology.
